My Makeup Brush Set | Review

Hello Loves!!

How are we doing today? I have a quick funny story to tell you before I jump into the review of these brushes!! I was on Face-time with my mom a few weeks ago and she told me to go to zulily.com to check out a set of makeup brushes. So I went there and I told her that I really wanted to try them but at the moment I couldn’t afford it! So we were on Face-time a bit longer and she starts busting up laughing. I asked her what was so funny? Turns out she went to click on the post to read more about the brushes and she ended up hitting a “quick buy” button! So I accidentally got these brushes purchased for me by my mom! The downfall of this particular website is they do take forever to ship, so I ended up having them ship the brushes to her house in case they didn’t get to me in time before the big move!! My mom received the brushes a few days ago ended up stealing 2 of them and then shipped me the rest!!

My mom shipped them in a envelope in the suede bag that the brushes came in! They were each individually wrapped with plastic! My first impression on these brushes is that they are super soft and super dense!

I wanted to put these brushes to the test and I did a full face of makeup using only these brushes ( I used my Morphe powder brush to set my makeup but thats it)

To start off I wanted to use 2 of my favorite foundations to see how the brush would hold up to the different types of foundation! On the left side of my face I used my Maybelline Fi Me stick foundation and on the right side I used the L’Oreal Infallable pro matte! I wanted to see if there was a difference between application with one being a stick and one being a liquid! There wasn’t! I used the biggest brush for the stick foundation and I used the next biggest for the liquid!

For contour and highlight I used the same brush! It is a mid sized one and it fit perfectly in the areas that would need contouring and was the perfect size to highlight the cheek bones!

I was a bit confused on how to use these for they eyes honestly but I just winged it! I used the biggest small brush for the crease shade! I ended up using my Sonia Kashuk eye on neutrals palette! Once the crease was done I used the smaller round brushes and darkened the look and put on a lid color!

I did really like the brush i used for the crease! It blended out the shades really well!

Eyeliner is a whole different ball game with these brushes!! Even with a eyeliner pen like my physicians formula one I am not the greatest so this was super a treat! I put some scotch tape to outline for the wing! I used the smallest one that looked best for winged liner and dug into my E.L.F Creme liner! I recommend the Maybelline one! This one is not my favorite for actual eyeliner! The wing came out ok…… for my first time using this brush!

Last but not least lips. I just wanted to throw on a lip color! I used my Katy Perry lipstick in Maroon Meow. These aren’t my favorite but I might as well wear them since I paid for them! πŸ™‚

Overall: I really like these brushes! I did notice when applying the face makeup I had to hold the handle up near the head of the brush to stop it from bending back but other than that they applied my makeup flawless and effortlessly! I cannot complain! They eyes were a bit harder to do but I think that may just take some getting used to!!
