I wanted to do this post today because this is something that I can relate to 100%. I am not sure how many of you have heard of FOMO (Fear of missing out) but its something that I have gone through a lot. When I see pictures of friends or family doing things without me I get a bit angry. Then I realize, even if they had asked me I was about 95% sure I would have said no. This really was not something that I noticed until I found Eventbrite. They are a company that helps people find and plan events. On their site you can look up events near and in your area as well as plan your own event! My goal for 2016 is GOMO (Going out more often). All of 2015 was spent inside my apartment in San Diego, Netflix and chilling with the boyfriend. I want to make a change in 2016 and do some fun things. So far in 2016 I have moved from San Diego, CA to Oklahoma. That was a huge adventure within itself.
I want to make 2016 the year to say “YES”. You don’t work hour after hour to make money for nothing. Take your hard-earned money and GOMO!!
Personally I am not good at planning vacations. I am not good at finding things to do in my area, especially now that we have moved. But thanks to websites such as meetup and Eventbrite I can search for local events as well as plan my own if I want. We have definitely made a change since moving to Oklahoma. We have been trying to go out each weekend instead of being stuck in the house and I have a few more things that I would love to do before this year comes to a close.
- In December I purchased Dixie chicks concert tickets for my mom for Christmas.. Little did I know I would be moving to a different state. My brother called me and asked if he could sell the ticket and honestly I almost said yes. When I got to thinking about it, I don’t want to experience “FOMO”. I told him no I was going to buy a plane ticket to fly back for the concert. That will be happening in July.
- My favorite band The pretty reckless is going to be going on tour this year and I am hoping to snag some tickets up to see them!
- I would love to take a trip to Mexico. I have never been out of the country and would love to plan a vacation.
As of this moment this is my list for now. I am sure more and more are going to be added on to it, but as of right now I am so excited to start saying YES and GOMO!
Thanks for reading ! (:
